Common signs of activity

wasps feeding on jam
lots of wasps resting on a nest entrance, with one about to fly into the nest
a wasp foraging nest building materials from a wooden fence
the entrance of a wasp nest, with a couple of wasps nearby

Wasps become noticeable when they build nests near homes and gardens. Key signs include:

  • High Activity: Wasps flying in and out of a single point in walls, roofs, or sheds.

  • Visible Nest: A papery structure ranging from golf ball to football size.

  • Buzzing Noises: Loud buzzing in lofts or cavities.

  • Aggression: Increased stings or defensive behaviour near a hidden nest.

Our Approach

When it comes to wasp control, we start by identifying the flight paths and determining if there’s a visible nest on your property. If we find a nest, we can treat and often remove it. However, sometimes wasps are simply foraging and there may not be a nest on-site. In those cases, we’ll determine whether the wasps are just passing through and advise you accordingly. For confirmed nests, we apply targeted insecticide treatments to control the activity effectively. If the wasps persist beyond the first week, we provide a free follow-up visit to ensure your space remains wasp-free.

Is it safe to treat a wasp nest myself?

No — wasps can be aggressive and stings are dangerous. Professional treatment is always the safest option.

How quickly does the treatment work?

The treatment usually neutralises the nest within 24 hours. Activity drops off quickly after application.

Will the nest be removed?

No — we treat the nest in place. Once neutralised, wasps will not return to it, and it will naturally degrade over time. If activity remains after a week, we provide a free follow-up visit.
